FM-200

FM-200 gas is described by the Department of Environmental Protection (EPA) as "the most effective replacement for Halon 1301." FM-200 suppresses fires in up to 10 seconds by preventing the chemical reaction that occurs in them. FM-200 is suitable for use in human-occupied areas at concentrations approved by NFPA-2001. Because it is so safe for humans, it is being used as a propellant in medical inhalers. FM-200 is also environmentally friendly. It has zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) and a short atmospheric half-life.
